Jessica M. Barton

jessicaJessica is a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana and graduated cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2023.

Throughout law school, she worked for numerous judges around Louisiana, including externing for the Honorable Laurie A. Hulin at the 15th Judicial District Court, interning with the Honorable Thomas R. Duplantier at the 15th Judicial District Court, interning with the Honorable Nandi F. Campbell at Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, and externing with United States Magistrate Judge Carol B. Whitehurst at the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.

During her last year of law school, she worked as a Rule XX student practitioner in the Family Law section at Loyola Law Clinic, where she earned the Family Law Justice Award in 2022, in addition to her Clinic team winning the National Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Clinic Team Award for 2022-2023. While at Loyola, she was a staff member of the Trial Advocacy program and a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) Competition Team.

She also served as the Co-Chair of the Honor Board and was President of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity-O’Niell Chapter.
